Taco Bell, Denny’s to open restaurants in Peru

Six American restaurant chains including Taco Bell, Denny’s and Johnny Rockets will open franchises in Peru this year.

While Taco Bell and Johnny Rockets announced their plans in Peru last December, the Grupo Nexo Franquicia franchising consultancy confirmed this year’s arrival of Denny’s, Arby’s, Dairy Queen and Which Wich.

“Denny’s, with 2,100 locations, is the world’s first casual family dining franchise. Which Wich competes with Subway, and Dairy Queen [will go against] Pinkberry,” said Fernando Lopez, managing partner of Grupo Nexo Franquicia. “The market was not ready for this second wave of franchises, but the development has arrived.”

Taco Bell, Dairy Queen and Arby’s compete in the fast food space. Denny’s and Johnny Rockets are casual dining restaurants and Which Wich operates the growing “fast casual” restaurant.

Taco Bell is the most recognized brand of the six restaurants with almost 300 restaurants in 20 countries in addition to 6,000 locations in the United States. The restaurant hopes to open 1,300 locations outside the United States by 2023.
