Sarah Jessica Parker visits Peru on promo tour

By October 6, 2015

Actress and model Sarah Jessica Parker spent two days in Lima on a promotional tour for the Ripley department store chain.

The Chilean department store and financial services company, Ripley, contracted the 50-year-old actress and model in June to be the face of its Yo Elijo (“I Choose”) campaign.

The star of “Sex and the City” and various films arrived in Peru Saturday night after opening a new Ripley store in Santiago, Chile. Parker participated in a Ripley press conference on one of her days in Lima, and on her free day she explored Miraflores.

“It has been really nice to be here. I have been in the country 60 hours. I had one day free and I went out to see the city as much as I could,” Parker said. “I would like to come back, this time with my family, to see Machu Picchu.”

“I would love to have more time here to do that, to travel more of Peru, not just Lima,” Parker said. “The great news is, Peru isn’t going anywhere.”

“I don’t consider myself a style icon,” Parker told Peruvian reporters. “People give me that status, but I think that when you live in the city and you take the bus or you launch a restaurant and you see so many different women, that is inspiring.”
